Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ)

Scales are structures that are formed by the bacterial plaque that accumulates in places where dental cleaning is not well done, combined with saliva minerals and hardens. Scales do not directly damage the teeth or gingivals, but it threatens the teeth and gingivals as it causes plaque accumulation. Therefore, they must be cleaned. Scale cleaning does not cause any harm, on the contrary, it is a process that must be done for gingival health.

The pregnancy period is divided into 3 trimesters (trimesters). The second trimester (ie the 4th-6th month period) is suitable for dental treatment. For emergency interventions that should be done in other periods, a consultation is definitely requested from the gynecologist.

During pregnancy, depending on hormonal changes, there may be swelling and bleeding in the gingivals (pregnancy gingivitis). Therefore, it is necessary to pay special attention to oral hygiene during pregnancy.

Local anesthesia (partial numbness) is generally preferred during dental treatments. General anesthesia is a much more complicated procedure than local anesthesia. In general anesthesia, the risk of complications and application costs are much higher.

Because of these, dental treatment under general anesthesia can be applied in the operating room in extreme cases (patients with advanced psychiatric problems, incompatible children, etc.).

Because local anesthesia is applied during implant surgery, the patient does not feel any pain. But, there may be pain that can be managed with painkillers for 1-2 days after surgery. As the operation is performed on the jawbone during the surgery, there may be swelling in the area where the surgery was performed for a few days.

Wisdom teeth are usually extracted because tooth cannot find enough room for itself on the jaw bone, and because it is in the wrong position or cannot be driven at all and is buried. In some cases, the tooth is partially erupted, it is compressed due to room shortage and cannot last any longer. This requires the tooth to be extracted. Otherwise, local nidal form around the tooth and cause severe pain and complaints such as mouth opening. It is not necessary to extract wisdom teeth, which do not cause any problems and have a correct position.

Tooth bleaching can be applied to almost everyone, but there are some situations where the treatment will not be effective. This will be determined by your dentist’s oral control. If there is no problem and you are satisfied with the structure of your teeth other than the color, tooth bleaching may be an ideal treatment for you.
